Rope bondage requires care and communication. Avoid tying rope around the neck or restricting breathing, circulation or nerve function. Keep safety scissors within reach, never leave a restrained partner unattended, and agree on a clear stop signal before play begins. Check comfort and circulation frequently, and release the rope immediately if there is pain, numbness, tingling or a change in skin colour. Cotton rope is not necessarily suitable for every suspension or advanced bondage technique.
